Milk & Honey was a large-scale immersive public art experience created for Palm Heights Grand Cayman Carnival, bringing together visual art, fashion, architecture, music, dance, and performance. Rooted in the hybrid traditions of Caribbean carnival, the project explored how African, South Asian, Indigenous, European, and Caribbean influences had converged across generations, using masquerade, movement, and communal celebration as forms of artistic expression, liberation, and defiance.
Centered on the tension between the sacred and the sensual, Milk & Honey reimagined carnival for a contemporary moment through works by artists including Naudline Pierre and Caitlin Cherry, whose sculptural carnival floats transformed their painting practices into mobile, participatory artworks. Alongside designers, performers, architects, DJs, and other collaborators, the project invited audiences to encounter contemporary art directly in the public sphere, turning the procession itself into a space for celebration, embodiment, memory, spirituality, and collective freedom.
