DUET x WSA
Curated by Kyle DeWoody & Zoe Lukov
The Mall
at 161 Water Street
New York
WSA presented Duet, an exhibition that inaugurated The Mall — the newly renovated third and fourth floors of 161 Water Street, conceived as a space for experiences at the intersection of art, design, and commerce.
Organized by curators Kyle DeWoody and Zoe Lukov, Duet brought together presentations from 11 selected galleries, each installed in its own space across The Mall, alongside a group exhibition. The format offered a new way to experience and collect art, creating a platform for galleries and artists while exploring new models of engagement between artworks, audiences, and the spaces they inhabit.
Inspired by ideas of duality — yin and yang, partnerships, twins and two spirits, mirrors and reflections — Duet explored the magnetic tension between two forces. From the choreography of the pas de deux to the playful rhythm of double dutch, from companionship and the energetic bond of twins to doppelgängers, mirror selfies, and digital avatars, the exhibition examined the many ways in which identity, connection, and opposition are shaped through pairs.
At its core, Duet celebrated the transformative potential of the dynamic duo.
